How to use the Shared Links feature in Safari under OS X Mavericks

How to use the Shared Links feature in Safari under OS X Mavericks

If you've upgraded to OS X Mavericks, you may have noticed that Safari has been updated too. The Shared Links feature in Safari can pull from Twitter and LInkedIn so you can easily access all the links your friends are sharing without ever even visiting each respective website. Here's how:

  1. Launch Safari on your Mac running OS X Mavericks.
  2. Click on the Bookmarks icon which is in the navigation below the address bar. Alternately you can click on Bookmarks in the top navigation and then click on Show Bookmarks in order to bring out the Bookmarks bar.
  3. In the Bookmarks Bar that slides out, now click on Shared Links.
  4. You'll now see a list of all the links your friends are sharing. Click on any one of them to view the link's content.

If you don't see any links populating, hop over to System Preferences and under Internet Accounts and make sure you've got your social accounts linked to OS X.

That's all there is to it. No need to actually use Twitter or LinkedIn in order to view what your friends are sharing while you're using Safari.
