Assistant Professor of Elementary/Special Education (12-192 ...

Hood College's Department of Education invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of
Elementary/Special Education to teach undergraduate and graduate students in elementary and special
education methods courses; advising students; serving on committees within the department and the
College; and meeting departmental NCATE and SPA (CEC and ACEI) requirements. Criteria for promotion,
tenure and reappointment are teaching effectiveness, scholarly achievement, and service to the
College. Preference given to those possessing background in both special education and elementary
education. Earned doctorate (or ABD, degree soon to be awarded) required in Elementary/Special
Education or related field(s) and have Pre-K-12 teaching experience at the school-based level in the
public schools. Preference will be given to those possessing background in both special education
and elementary education.
